Wat Suan Kaew Utthayan Yai located in the row of the main temples of the town. This historical site of this temple consisted of a bowl shaped principal Chedi, which was once housed a Buddha image. The section of Buddhist ceremony was enclosed by laterite walls. There are tow gateways, the front and the right which leading to the section containing the monks living quarters.

The important constructions in this temple are the main Chedi with lotus shape top, a Wiharn building and 33 subordinate Chedis. All the constructions were bounded by a demarkation wall. The whole building complex was originally surrounded by temple ditch. The Late Prince Damrongrajanuphap suggested that this might be the temple where the cremated remains of the Sukhothai royal family were kept.
