Nang Yai Wat Khanon

Nang Yai (the large shadow puppets) was a Royal Art, played only in the court of the Royal Palace or created for the pleasure of the King. The Nang (hide) is typically engraved with high still of the artist playing was performed with Thai classical music and mostly in Thai athletic story, for examaple Ramayana.

Wat Khanon has the most completed collection of the engraved Nang Yai in Thailand, by Phra Xhru Sattha Soonthorn or Luang Pu Klom, a revealable monk. The collection has 330 pieces, consisting of such athletic roles as Hanuman, Indra-Shit, Tossakan, etc..
