Wat Pa Laeng
Kamphaengphet Historical Park

Kamphaengphet Province

After local residents discovered a large laterite well in the precincts of this abandoned temple, the temple came to be called the Temple in the Laterite Forest (Wat Pa Laeng). The temple grounds measure about 21,700 square metres. The important structures are the main Chedi, which is bell-shaped with an octagonal base, two Vihara, nine subordinate chedis, five wells, and two laterite cisterns. The court is surfaced with laterite. On the basis of architectural style it is conjectured that the temple was built in the 13th to 15th centuries AD.
